  1. Ha ha, yep, I sold my fax machine about seven years ago, after it had been collecting dust for a year. So that's about right. Funny, because we used them a LOT up until then, and then they just sort of vanished. And sandwiches at the computer... oh yes!

  5. Chocolate makes less crumbs than sandwiches; worth keeping in mind :-) Sadly, in Israel, fax machines are still very much in use -- by institutions. They expect you to have one so they can send you various forms, which they want you to fill in and then fax back to them. Never mind that by this point the document is barely legible.

    1. Some of them (one of the insurance companies, actually) are actually moving over to sending scanned documents by e-mail, with the option of returning them by fax or e-mail. Of course the quality of the scanned document is still poor - most people don't know the difference between scanning for the web and scanning for print.

  6. My pet is a budgerigar, she takes naps on a turtle (really, it's a clay decoration turtle), and I am having my naps on the fax machine.

  7. I like the idea of swearing in different languages. I usually only do it in two: English for normal stuff, Spanish if I am really, really, really pissed off :) Ah, well, and sometimes in Catalan, if I am upset with something that understand Catalan ;)

  8. I do eat at the table with my laptop on it, but to avoid any crumbs stuck between the keys, I bought a plastic transparent cover for the keyboard :)
