I love this. I'm just starting now...Tell me, is it just me being naive or they really do this? I mean fictitious quotes... Is that why I never apply for a job if I see more than 30 quotes made already?
Rozsa, translation agencies are capable of that and many other "evil tricks". Unlike poor freelance translators, they control most of the translation market. They have the power and willingness to make you work for ridiculous rates.
Just kidding :) . There are and will always be PMs and agencies with bad practices. There are and will always be translators who work for them.
My advice: just ignore that kind of agencies and focus on the high end segment.
