When I grow up, I want to be like this translator. To be honest, I already make six figures (in usd, not eur) and I work on my pajamas, but I have yet to learn how to reply impolite/ignorant people :)
Oh, Alejandro... Yes. I really wish I had said this when my grandmother's neighbour raised her eyebrow at me - half pity, half disdain - at my grandfather's funeral, when I said what I did for a living. I get the feeling she was thinking the above, but thought it wasn't quite the time or place to discuss. It is a bit of a weird job though, isn't it? People email us things, we email things back in a different language, we email a bill, and money magically appears in my bank account...
Awesome; we love it! BTW -- Judy showed your cartoons during workshops in Scotland and Ireland, and needless to say, they were very popular. Agreed with @Kevin: sometimes you have to work in a bikini. :)
Well, in Italy you can forget about the six figures unless you run an agency (in which case you can also forget the pajamas) :D but you can stil earn enough for a decent living ;-)
Dear Spammers, your comments will be deleted and marked as spam. Dear colleagues, I will not be able to reply to your questions. It was too much time consuming.
Well, that's not Italy for sure! ;)

(well, money appears in the respective bank account... it would be wonderful, of course, if it all just appeared in mine, as is implied above...)
ReplyDeleteAMEN!!! Thank you for this one!!! But on really hot days we can skip the pajamas for work....
ReplyDeleteJust hilarious... even if we do have to work now and then for those six figures. ;-)

ReplyDeletecool!
Sweet! I got this cartoon on the farewell card from my in-house job.
ReplyDeleteHaha excellent piece as usual:) I agree with all except for the garment - dislike pyjamas in general so would definitely prefer bikini;)

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but who's the guy on the right? A translator? If this is a joke, I didn't quite get it.
ReplyDelete"raised her eyebrow at me - half pity, half disdain"... yeah, that's the reaction you usually get. I used the argue before, but now I just smile back.
ReplyDeleteHowever, six figures is not the amount you get in Russia, but the revenue is still quite good
6 figures!? How?!
