  3. Haha, I like this one. Thanks for the great blog, I had a good time reading all comic strips. In the meantime, I've added a link at my translation links pages (http://www.freelance-translator.info) under "blogs" and under "humor".

FPtrad, thanks for your support since the very beginning

Ilaria, I've been following your blog for a while, I just added it to the link list.

Tranxstextuel, thank you and keep up the good work you too!

Ramón, thank you for all the excellent and extremely funny (cat and mouse :) ) comments and the link

Anonymous, Dilbert is my favorite strip, Calvin & Hobbes, Hägar the Horrible, Bit & Bite are among my favorites too. In my opinion, the best characters of Scott Adams are the "evil" ones

  10. I have just discovered your blog and noticed the header..
How can you regard your education positively if it has equipped you to earn no more than the minimum wage? I would be asking the university for my damned money back!

  11. Anonymous, that's the point. This is a comic strip about the fictional misadventures of a fictional translator, although many of the events are freely based on my personal experiences.

I don't have two PhDs (I'm just finishing a dissertation for one) and I earn more than the minimum wage. In fact, I left a very good job as an engineer when I realized that I could earn more as a technical translator and be able to manage my work time.

  13. Well, anonymous, I can tell you that I have the Spanish equivalent for a bachelor's degree and a master, and it took me four years to earn something above the minimum wage. This comic strip reflects quite well the usual miseries young translators suffer. This is how translation world works, but I still love it!

  15. Very, very interesting!!! Congrats!
When I was a Translation student in the University I created a comic, naming my own classmates, my teacher and myself with a very different funny name based on their most common characteristics, tnen I created a story based on facts occured to ourselves as studen and is a trilogy, three funny tales which together are near 50 pages!... (Tales written in Spanish)

    So, very nice!
