  12. I always make it very clear that I prefer the writing and not the speaking, thus that I am a translator and that I only interpret on special occasions.

  13. About a week ago, I got called "pedantic" when I gently reminded someone who should know better that she had said "translate" when in fact she meant "interpret". Even though both my hands formed fists in reaction to this comment, I decided that non violence was the answer. Some discussions are meant to end in dead ends. My sympathies to poor Mox!

  14. The first panel ALMOST happened to me. In a small claims court where I was the plaintiff, the judge showed his stupidity regarding translation and interpretation. I held my tongue, but it was not easy!
