    Also why translators keep big agency databases. (Well, not really, but having a big amount of agencies on ones rooster gives a certain leeway.)

    Actually agencies use only about 10% of their cattle.

    And multinationals pay the ranchers not just for translation, but mostly for technology and management—no one is going to manage hundreds of freelancers.
