Mox is a young but well educated translator. Two PhDs, six languages...
and he hardly earns the minimum wage.
Everything is true ! "context" is quite a mantra for me...
ReplyDeleteSo funny!
ReplyDelete[translator mode on] but it's 'patient' not 'pacient' [translator mode off]
Sophie: in fact, it's maybe "too true", I should have exaggerated it
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: thank you very much [t mode on] thanks, I corrected it! [t mode off]
Ha ha, great Alejandro! :)
ReplyDeleteI usually use a similar sentence: "It's not between my fields of expertise".
ReplyDeleteLovely, too true. But the fact is that it really depends on the context, hehe.
ReplyDeleteQuiet often I'm asked by my friends to translate a word or a phrase in English. When I;m not sure I tell them exactly "well, it depends on context"
-"Good morning sir, how are you ?
ReplyDelete-Good morning, well it depends on the context"
Great cartoon - I like your sense of humour very much. :)
Do you need a dictionary to "translate" from one light bulb to another? ;)
ReplyDeleteAlways funny, Alejandro!
And consistency also... must be changed in a way that is consistent with previous changes, lol. Thanks for the cartoon --I needed to know I am not alone here ;-).
ReplyDeleteVery funny, I will share it via twitter. Thank you!
