    This made me laugh out loud!! I do this all the time....I am constantly recruiting potential interpreters wherever I go!! Every time I hear a new language, my ears perk up and I listen in!!

    Have I gone through a similar experience? My wife has many times! On a romantic date, my eyes light up when I hear the waiter is speaking Somali or Arabic--and my wife sees it. On our first anniversary, we went to a fancy French restaurant in the Colorado Rockies. The waiter and I chatted in French for some time while my wife patiently look out the window. My wife knew what she was getting into with me--I was in love with languages before I met her :)
